At 5 watts into 8 ohms the F2 is less powerful than the F1,
but it is biased at nearly twice the current,
so it does a better job into 4 ohms, and can more easily
drive some of the correction networks that you might use to
adjust your speaker’s response.
My own experience is that the kinds of speakers this amplifier
is intended for are usually happy within a 4 watt window.
