The CD design looks rather cheesy but I like a good combination of music, the recording quality and its price point.  (I got it at around Bt400)

It's a covered version of canto-pop style music.  The recording gives a feeling of very cozy and intimate recording like they let the tape run and record whatever is going on.  I wrote more about this CD here krub.

Don't let the badly designed cover fool you.   Try listening to this CD krub.

Various artists that I like here

1. Peggy Lee - Bewitching-Lee! CD#07092 - S&P Records – Vocal/Jazz.

I stressed here again, only from S&P Records.
Track 7 - Fever is in mono but should 'take your breath away" with a totally stunning presentation and extremely full body music.  I can guarantee you won't look down on mono after this listening.  The evidence is that you see the revival of some LP in mono.

2.  Alicia Keys - The Diary of Alicia Keys, CD#55712 – R&B.

Usually, I can't finish the CD of the genre in one round.  This one is an exception.  The sound is decent too, not much of a bright and harsh though with lots of upper bass which typical to commercial pop music.  One of the CDs that make it to Record To Die For (R2D4) list of Stereophile magazine for the year 2004.

3.  Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley - Rock. CD #10046.

What a great presenter of all type of songs.  One of those 'sound from heaven'.  I think it's also R2D4 list of Stereophile too.  If you don't like live recording, you could get the Songbird album which has pretty much the same song in studio recording.

4.  Jane Monheit - Come Dream with Me - Vocal.  CD#42192

I think it's record of the month from Stereophile.  Great recording and not too difficult to listen to.  Her new album, Taking a Chance on Love, is even easier to listen to but I like the sonic quality of Come Dream with Me much more.

5.  Madeleine Peyroux - Careless Love - – Vocal/Standard. CD#31922

Peyroux was always get comparison with Billie Holiday.  Also, record of the month from Stereophile.  I like her rendition on Bob Dylan's Your're gonna make me lonesome.

Her first album, Dreamland CD#82946, is very famous too but I prefer an easier to listen 2nd album more.

6.  Alison Krauss - Now That I've Found You - Bluegrass/American music CD#0325

Don't let the cover album scare you away...  :D
Not quite an audiophile material for this album and you may be dreaded to hear 'banjo' in her music which can be considered country music or homeboy kinda thing.  But it sounds much nicer than I expect.  Very addictive, indeed. Track that I like is Baby, Now That I've Found You (The lyric is really biting) and her rendition of The Beatles' I Will.  Her voice is rather pure and simple while the sonic quality is just acceptable.
