Lucky you.

I think most Thai are not familiar with all these words as we are not grown up with this kind of equipment as we have lots of helping hand, ie grandparents and nanny.  Now, we don't have that much so Thai parent has to go up a learning curve quite fast and utilize all those self-help equipment.

คอก, this is a good word for play pen/play yard so that we're not confusing it with bed/cot/crib.

I think play pen/play yard are those that portable/collapsible like what you have.  It does not have a real mattress as it wasn't meant to be used for sleeping.

Its size depends on your space krub.  The example of crib/cot is what shows in this link.

Actually, consumer report suggest lots on how to choose crib but you need to pay for the content.  The mattress should fit the bed snuggly so that there is not more than space the size of two finger, put it parallel between bed and mattress; otherwise, it's a choke hazard again for baby. 

How old is the baby anyway?

Beware of the color used as child usually 'eats' it and may result in the accummulation of lead from paint  Though there is little chance now, why take it.  For the US, house built in 1970 or before may pose some lead hazard due to its paint.  For Thailand, I would add another 10 years for safety. 

Choose the wooden style like the one in the picture above with no cushion. Does not look nice but it's safe.  Also, there should be a clear plastic rail running along the top side of the bed rail to prevent kid bitting the crib rail and eat lacquer...  It happens!  They eat everything as a part of their learning process.

Also, try a pair of open type headphone.  It helps when you're really want to listen to music.  Ask Khun mee for suggestion as I could only recommend Grado SR60 :)
