The 6900 is a rugged version of the 5687 and was originally developed, circa 1954, for a US Air Force project by the Bendix Corporation of Red Bank, New Jersey.

That's why 6900 tubes are SO EXPENSIVE.� I have seen them for $200 each
.� I have never own 6900 (fun wan) but I have been using 5687 will good results.� I
them alot
, much more so than the 12A*7 family.
