went to watch 2012 today at central world digital cinema.
Don't want to say too much about acting and story line, but it should be enough to say that it is average...
But CG and sound, now that is another story.
Another movie for me when it release in bluray.
This may be the main reason why movie now a day have so little re-playability. When so much of time and
money are put into special effects and sound, the main story lines are put in
an after thought... It make the movie
short lived and will only be something that you watch it once because it is so shallow.
I love watching movie in Cinema. It's the whole experience of buying popcorns and the feeling when you sit down waiting for the movie to screen that can't be beat.
I find that watching movie at home I tends to fast forward the movie too much sometime loosing the plot. 
Yes, I do agree with your concerns, it lkes when you watching soccer at the soccer field its give you more feeling than you watching live broadcast at home. it's the same with watching movie at theater via at your home.
