I guess this is one of the all time must have for audiophiles.
My copy is the same as yours and it sounds OK to me.
Nevertheless, lots said this is not that great of a copy. So how good will it be if you get the copy people said it's great...
Even though it's live, the quality of the recording is great and lots could be told from this album, particularly soundstage and image.
One of the talkabout is that lots mentioned you can tell how Belafonte walk on the stage and where the audience is when he asked different audience on the floor and balcony to sing with him on the last track in this CD. Quite amazing for the recording in the very old day.
I would say it's the kind of music your parent grow up and listen to. I would say it's comparable though not the same as the music in the musical

South Pacific or something

that. It's not the kind of music you can listen to

pop song but I think you really enjoy it.
You can try some sample from amazon.com but I tell you it sounds horrible and probably as best as internet soundbites can give you. To me, the quality of the recording makes this album an interesting piece. Without this kind of recording, I doubt whether I will

or listen to it at all.
