1.� �step one: gently pull the bottom puck from the
collar to its stopping point (fraction of an inch).
turning both collar and bottom puck will help to even it.
2.� step two: now when you set down the isolator,
the collar holds the top puck up allowing the bearing
to find the lowest point of gravity.
3.step three: roughly center top puck on collar.
once the component is placed on the vcs, the top puck will move.
there should be no need to re-center them.
4.step four: repeat with two more isolators,
placing them roughly equidistant to line up
with the outside edges of your component.
if your component is extremely heavy on one end,
you may wish to place two isolators on that side.
5.step five: place component on isolators (note the component's rubber feet make no contact with the shelf or isolators). at this point, the weight of the component will bring the top puck down to contact the bearing. component should move freely in all directions, for several seconds after even the slightest displacement with your finger.
6.step six: depending upon the weight of your component, the collars may not have dropped completely. you can use one finger on each side of the collars to gently bring them down to stopping point, making certain they are even. IF the component is not straight on the shelf, slide the component straight, and/or dress the cables. gently lifting one corner will allow the bearing to re-set, if needed. reaching under the component to slide the isolator should not be needed, and will likely cause the component to move away from alignment with the front of the shelf.
7.step seven: should the component fail to move freely in all directions, appearing to "float", you CAN adjust the collar by reaching in with one finger and sliding the collar under center of top puck. moving the base over may cause the component to move off center on the shelf. if so, refer to step six, and slide entire component straight in its place, it should stay there
