Vision ของLinn อาจจะถูก cd ยอดขายลดลง  Digital soure ขยายตัวเพิ่มมากขึ้น เพราะเพลงสามารถแจกจ่ายตามหมู่ผู้บริโภคกันเองได้ ทำให้ต้นทุนของการได้มาซึ่งsofewareต่ำลง และเครื่องเล่นที่จะเล่นfileเหล่านี้ก็มีมากมาย อาจจะไม่ใช่คำตอบของmusic serverแบบlinn ก็ได้เพราะเราสามารถใช้คอมพิวเตอร์download file จากผู้ขายต่างๆ รวมทั้งlinn และนำมาเล่นในคอมพิวเตอร์ โดยใช้dacดีๆ และอีกประการเครื่องเล่นDVD หรือฺBD player ซึ่งมีช่องusb คงสามารถนำHarddisk มาต่อได้ถ้าเราformat Hd เป็นfat32 ตัวอย่างเครื่องเล่นคุณภาพดีที่ผมคิดว่าน่าสนใจเช่น Oppo Bd83SE หรือตัวที่ผมมี Intregra RDV1.1

Linn Abandons the Compact Disc

Linn ผู้ผลิตอุปกรณ์ Audiophile เจ้าใหญ่ของอังกฤษเลิกผลิตเครื่องเล่น CD ครับ เนื่องจากยอดขาย CD ตก 40% แต่ยอดขาย DS (Digital Source? ไม่แน่ใจ) ขึ้นเกือบเท่าๆกันครับ โดยผู้ซื้อสามารถซื้อเพลง Hires Studio Master 24/96+ ตรงจากเวป Linnและโหลดจาก internet มาฟังได้ในไม่กี่นาทีครับ

ระบบของ Linn น่าสนใจมากครับ แต่แพงระเบิดเลย 

Great Britain's Linn was one of the first high-end companies to begin producing music servers and streamers, and the company has now decided that the CD no longer has a place in their product range. Linn will end production of CD players in 2010, and will concentrate fully on their DS music server range. Over the last two years, Linn has seen a 40% decline in sales of their CD players, offset by a similar rise in sales of DS products, which now account for around 30% of Linn's total sales.

Linn Records has also seen a similar drop in CD sales and rise in digital downloads, most in high-res Studio Master FLAC format. While CDs still undoubtedly have many more years in the market, it's hard to ignore the allure of 24/96+ files that can be downloaded directly to a computer or music server within minutes.
