ถ้าจุดไส้หลอดด้วยไฟ 6 โวลต์
หลอด 8BQ5 มันจะทำงานได้ไหมครับ
ทำงานได้ครับแต่ไม่เต็มที่ เนื่องจากไส้หลอดได้รับความร้อนไม่เพียงพอที่จะทำให้คาโถดปล่อยกระแสออกได้เต็มที่ แต่เรื่องอายุการใช้งานผมไม่ทราบครับว่าจะเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง เคยอ่านเจอว่าอายุการใช้งานน้อยกว่าจุดด้วยไฟปกติ ผมไม่แน่ใจครับว่าจริงหรือเปล่าถ้าตามความเข้าใจของผมไม่น่าจะใช่แบบนั้นเพราะว่าไส้หลอดร้อนน้อยกว่าจะทำให้คาโถดปล่อยอิเลคตรอนออกได้น้อยกว่า ความร้อนที่เกิดน้อยกว่านี้น่าจะทำให้อายุนานขึ้น

NO one has actually ANSWERED the question, so I will. Since vintage 6BQ5 tube amps were made the AC lines have risen from about 110V to 125V+/- about 15% so any 6BQ5 (6.3V nominal) is likely getting about 7.3 volts now. The 7.3-7.5 volt range will be fine and the 8BQ5 will work fine, but new ones will sound
a somewhat aged 6BQ5, that is - slightly darker all other things being equal, with about a 10% loss of power before clipping. It will seem
a 6BQ5 in the lower end of the GOOD Region.
One can also use 10BQ5's but they will have somewhat less gain, and will sound even darker,
a 6BQ5 tube on the borderline between BAD and GOOD, or even into the BAD region and might take an extra minute or so to get hot enough to pass current; it might audibly sound more distorted, depending on the circuit, and have about a 30% or more loss of power compared to a 6BQ5.
But remember,
using NOS Vintage 8BQ5's in place of 6BQ5's, the output tubes will be more stable and literally last for your lifetime, or longer with little change; the same goes for the 10BQ5's but again, you'd get around 10-12 wpc for a pair in PP with higher distortion, instead of 15-17 wpc. for a pair of 6BQ5's. An advantage is that the power transformer will run somewhat cooler as four 10BQ5's will pull about 1.8 to 2.0 amps of filament current at 7.3 Volts instead of 3.04 to 3.35 Amps of filament current for a quad of 6BQ5's running on 7.3 Volts.
