I think you just buy an entry level walkman CD, Bt2,000+, and plug it into Tivoli Model Two and that should be more than good enough and should beat Bose Wave Radio that comes with CD too, according to my experience with Bose and Tivoli. Sam Tellig of Stereophile's also review and suggest this player under this condition too, apart from its award winning tuner.

This is another story. Apart from its trendy look, I think iPod + Tivoli will still beat Bose all the time.
From reading this post, you'll see most praise Bose for almost everything except its sound quality. However, the sound quality is rather subjective. Some may say it's good enough for me and some may not
it. So listen first and see which way you are heading. For me, I've been trying anytime I see Bose to re-listen to them again and again. The outcome is still the same for me on its sound quality.
To me, Bose is really good as a furniture. It happened to have sound as a gimmick. If you think of Bose this way, I think it's worth the money as it will fit in the modern design quite well and it's rather difficult to find anything with sound that can replace Bose in this category. Also, you got a great dealer in Thailand too.
