You'll find the 6922 to be a tube with better than average detail, in this respect it'll be closer to solid state gear's ability to render fine detail in a soundstage. The 6922 still offers the enhanced sense of spatial detail generally attributed to tube coloration but without the 'tube mush' that's more common among tube designs. The 12AX7 is a traditional tube sounding design. It offers the 'lush sound" with "rounded tones' that vocal enthusiast enjoy. However, if you're into soundstage detail, the 12AX7 will disappoint as it obscures fine detail in favor of a euphonic coloration that produces the typical tube sound one hears so much about, instrument detail presented with a 3D character that's enthralling. I'm inclined to believe most concert recordists will favor the 6922 over the 12AX7 for these reasons.
